Jean is a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC) and has been working in the field of recovery since 2000. Jean understands the disease of addiction and the negative consequences it can have on an addict and their loved ones.
Jean has worked with gender specific treatment for women at New Directions for Women where she helped to plan and initiate their first women with children program. Jean has worked as Program Director at Gold Coast Counseling Center and group facilitator at School Ten, Inc. where she educated clients on the danger and consequences of drinking and driving, and has worked as an Intake Counselor and Maintenance Counselor at an outpatient Methadone clinic.
Jean has also worked as a case manager for Serving People In Need, Inc. (SPIN) in their substance abuse recovery program helping indigent substance abusers with housing and ancillary services. Jean believes in meeting the client where they are at, and that recovery is not a one size fits all. She understands a client’s needs, and believes in “Unconditional positive Regard” for each client. Jean knows that addicts and alcoholics are not bad people trying to do good but are sick people trying to get well. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her adult children and grandchildren, her friends and carrying the message to other alcoholics and addicts.
